Early Childhood Sports - Ages 3 1/2 - 5
This exciting and challenging program is designed to promote enthusiasm for physical activity through active play, team sports and sport-specific instruction while enhancing physiological development, motor-skill development and growth.
Programers are divided by age into small groups (approximately 8 children) under the supervision of qualified/trained counselors (aged 18-25) who are assisted by counselors-in-training (aged 15-17).
Programers participate in one or two sports activities each hour under the direction of group counselors and sport-specific instructors. The afternoon sports program includes lunch in Concordia College’s dining hall, which is included in the cost of the program. In addition, all programers in the afternoon programs, enjoy at least one off-site trip each session to go bowling at Homefield Bowl in Yonkers.
Time is set aside each day for rest, snacks, drinks and bathroom breaks.
Programers will be grouped by their birthdays, not by the grade they will be entering in September.
Programers must have completed one year of nursery school, must have reached the age of 3 on or before December 31, 2013.
Programers must be completely toilet-trained.
Activities take place in the College’s gymnasiums and athletic fields with alternating indoor and outdoor activities.
