Brian Sondey is entering his 4th year as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Concordia College during the 2013-2014 academic year. Sondey was originally named Interim Coach in October of 2010 and was named Head Coach in January of 2011. This season’s Clippers team will include 11 returning players from a 13-15 (9-9 in the CACC) season which saw Concordia earn the most wins for the Men’s Basketball Program since the 1986-87 season. The win total was also the 7th highest in the known 41-year program history. The 2012-2013 Clippers featured two All Conference and All Met Selections as Senior Argelix Gil and Junior Norman Pope both accomplished the rare feat of achieving both awards. Concordia has established their brand of high scoring basketball under Sondey as they finished 1st in the CACC in scoring/game for the 2nd consecutive year. Concordia also led the conference in 3PT%, finished in a virtual tie for first in FT%, and finished 3rd in overall FG% as Coach Sondey has placed a premium on improving the overall skill development of every player in the program.
Coach Sondey’s primary responsibilities include overseeing all recruiting, in-game management, on-court development, academic progress, and off season skill improvement.
