Songwriting and Composition
June 26 - July 21
9am - 12 noon
AM Grades 6-12
Early Registration Before March 1 After March 1
Directed by highly regarded composer, teacher and pianist, Matt Van Brink, the Songwriting/Composition offers talented middle and high school composers and song writers the special opportunity to focus for 4-weeks solely on exploring and refining their compositional skills.
Students receive private composition lessons as well as classes in analysis, score-reading, theory, and aural skills. During the program, composers will write pieces for small ensembles that will be performed and recorded in a full evening concert. This will provide the students with a valuable archive and learning tool. The camp will culminate in a staged performance set to music at Concordia Conservatory's Summer Music Festival and an outreach concert in the community.
